MatBoss was developed in 2013 to satisfy some of the most arduous and time-consuming challenges in the sport of wrestling. The app was born from the vision to offer an all-inclusive tool to aid coaches in creating more successful wrestlers and, ultimately, more successful wrestling teams. In January 2015, wrestling’s premier news and information source, InterMat, joined the team to further refine the app and its offerings while packaging the tool to appeal to college and high school wrestling programs across the country. Today, MatBoss is the leader in wrestling video and statistics integration and is changing the face and intelligence of the sport thanks to its leadership team of passionate, experienced wrestling fanatics.
As a former high school mathematics and computer science educator, John’s vision for creating a transformative, problem-solving piece of technology for the sport of wrestling has driven the success of MatBoss to-date. As President and Chief Developer at MatBoss, John has over 30-years of coaching experience with some of the top high school wrestling programs in the country.
Tyler Hemmesch / Sales Boss
Tyler’s passion for the sport is driven by his experience as a national freestyle and greco champ, a four-time state placewinner in high school and his Division I stint at North Dakota State University. He translates that passion and experience in the sport into leading the sales and business development efforts for MatBoss and aiding coaches in realizing the true impact that technology can have on their wrestling programs.
Eric Gerold / Marketing Boss

He brings a wealth of brand development, social media, SEO and direct marketing experience to the MatBoss team. As a Co-Founder of both MatBoss and InterMatWrestle.com, Eric is reluctant to admit that he is the only non-wrestler on the MatBoss team…a fact which his partners rarely let him forget.
Andrew Hipps / Content Boss
Andrew Hipps has been covering wrestling on the national level for more than a decade. He is not only the content lead of MatBoss, but also serves as the editor and part owner of InterMat, one of the nation’s leading wrestling websites. Andrew has provided live coverage at the Olympic Games and many of the nation’s premier wrestling events.
