Our Story
MatBoss was developed in 2013 to satisfy some of the most arduous and time-consuming challenges in the sport of wrestling. The app was born from the vision to offer an all-inclusive tool to aid coaches in creating more successful wrestlers and, ultimately, more successful wrestling teams. Since 2013 MatBoss has worked with thousands of High School and College teams across the country along with our partners at TrackWrestling to provide the best app in the sport. Today, MatBoss is the leader in wrestling video and statistics integration and is changing the face of the sport. This is all thanks to our team of passionate and experienced wrestling fanatics.
The Team Behind MatBoss
Jeremy Hipps
President
Jeremy is a former high school and collegiate wrestler who was a member of Augsburg College's national championship teams in 1995, 1997, and 1998. He was one of the founding members of RevWrestling which owned and operated InterMatWrestle.com from 2004 through 2021. Jeremy has held a variety of roles as technology executive and has a passion for exploring the ways in which new technologies can be applied to sports.
Tyler Hemmesch
Operations
Tyler’s passion for the sport is driven by his own experience wrestling in High School, Nationally, and Collegiately. He translates that passion and experience in the sport into leading the sales and business development efforts for MatBoss and aiding coaches in realizing the true impact that technology can have on their wrestling programs.
Shawn Roske
Technology
Shawn Roske is a software architect and electrical engineer who has been developing applications, websites, interactive installations and automated solutions for clients and companies for over 25 years. He previously worked in the advertising industry where he development solutions for some of the largest brands in the world. He is constantly experimenting with new technologies and techniques and is bringing his hunger for innovation to the MatBoss team and the sport of Wrestling!
Eric Gerold
Marketing
Prior to co-founding MatBoss and leading all strategic and tactical marketing activity for the company, Eric spent the majority of his career in the advertising and marketing space with various ad agencies and digital marketing firms in the Minneapolis market. He brings a wealth of brand development, social media, SEO and direct marketing experience to the MatBoss team. As a Co-Founder of both MatBoss and InterMatWrestle.com, Eric is reluctant to admit that he is the only non-wrestler on the MatBoss team…a fact which his partners rarely let him forget.
Andrew Hipps
Content
Andrew serves as the content director at MatBoss. He has been covering the national and international wrestling scene since 2005. Andrew was a part owner and senior editor at InterMat (InterMatWrestle.com), one of the nation's leading wrestling content websites, for 15 years. He has served on the content team at United World Wrestling, the international governing body for wrestling, since 2016. Andrew has provided on-site coverage at wrestling's most prestigious events, including the Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup and the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
Lauren Traxler
Marketing
Lauren is the marketing specialist/customer success role for MatBoss. She brings a wealth of knowledge and a diverse skill set to the company and she is looking forward to providing a fresh perspective.
Chad Dennis
Podcast
Chad Dennis has been a Head High School Wrestling Coach at Harrison High School (Ohio) for 20+ years. He has amassed over 300 dual victories in one of the richest Wrestling states in the country. Chad was a four year starter for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1992 – 1996. He finished with over 100 college victories and was a two-time NCAA Qualifier. Chad now teaches statistics at Harrison High School and resides in Harrison with his wife (Holly) and his four kids (Keegan, Avery, Owen and Grayson).
